Weather: Since Venezuela is located in the tropics, its weather is generally warm and rainy, and there are differences in climate due to the orography, winds and sea. The latitude is not relevant, but the elevation changes dramatically the climate, especially temperature, reaching very different values, as mentioned below:

- Tropical
: from sea level to 800 meters. The average annual temperature is of 22 to 29° C.
Example: Maracaibo (arid) or Guanare (savanna).


- Tropical cálido de montaña
: Tropical warm mountain: between 800 to 1500 m over the sea level (annual average of 18 to 22 ° C). It is the typical climate of Merida and Caracas.

- Tropical temperate mountain
: between 1,500 to 2,800 meters over the sea level (between 14 to 18 ° C).
Examples are the Colonia Tovar and Timotes.


- The Paramo Climate
: above 2,800 meters over the sea level. Temperatures are below 14 degrees but above 0 ° C. Example: San Rafael de Mucuchies and Apartadero.

- Iced Climate
: on the peaks of over 4,700 m over the sea level, where perpetual snow prevails, temperatures are below 0 ° C.
