:: It is one of the greatest delta areas of the world, comprising 40.240 Km2 of swampy surface crossed by multiple narrow channels. Because of the water joint of the Orinoco River which brings a load of nutrients along its travel and, to the salt waters of the Atlantic Ocean, there is a dense and humid jungle vegetation with a variety of species and inhabited by an amazing tropical fauna.

:: Its main inhabitants are the Waraos natives which form small communities over the shore of these narrow channels. They keep their habits and they live the same as their ancestors.
